How much does it cost?

There is no fee to register. The cost of our service to locate leads and secure work depends on your membership level.

• Membership level – Select a membership level for every profile you post.
• Basic membership is free.
• Guru membership fees range from $9.95 to $34.95 per month.
• Guru Vendor membership fees range from $12.94 to $45.44 per month.
• Annual memberships can be purchased at a 50% discount.
• An additional 20% discount is offered when upgrading more than one profile at a time.

• Project fee – We charge all Freelancers either a 4.5% or 9% project fee based on profile membership type. The fee is subtracted from the Employer’s payment.

• Guru and Guru Vendor members pay a 4.5% project fee.
• Basic members pay a 9% project fee.

• Payment processing fee – We also charge all Freelancers a 2.95% payment processing fee to cover the costs of payment processing, credit card fees, and PayPal fees. The fee is subtracted from the total amount of the Employer’s payment.

• Transfer method fees – You may be charged a small processing fee depending on the transfer method you’ve selected when transferring funds from your cash account.

How does Guru.com make money?

Our matching and project management services are FREE for Employers because Freelancers help to defray costs in two ways — through transaction fees and memberships.

1. Freelancers pay a 7.45% or 11.95% transaction fee. This fee is based on the Freelancer’s membership level and is deducted from the Freelancer’s payment for the project.
2. Freelancers can also purchase memberships to receive privileged access to projects and Employers. Freelancer profiles displaying the Guru or Guru Vendor icon paid a subscription fee to obtain this special access.

How do I register?

There is no fee to register. There are fee-based membership options, as well as transaction fees charged only after payment is received from the Employer.
To register,

1. Click the “Join Now” link on the top right of the page.
2. Click on ”I want to work because I am a Freelancer.”
3. Complete the required information.
4. Click the “Create Account” button.

If you would also like to post project work on Guru.com, you must create a separate Employer account. Sign out of your Freelancer account before creating an Employer account.

Can I register as both a Freelancer and an Employer?

Yes. However, in order to take advantage of Guru.com services as both a Freelancer and an Employer, you must register two separate accounts with different usernames and email addresses.

I’m having trouble signing in.

Let’s start with the basics. To sign in,

1. Click the “Sign in” button on the top right of the page.
2. Enter your username and password.
3. Click the “Sign in” button.
4. Your dashboard will display.

Make sure you enter the correct username and password to sign in to your Freelancer account. If you’ve forgotten your username or password, go to the Forgot Your Username or Password page to have your username and a new password emailed to you. You should receive an email within minutes, but please allow for up to one hour before trying again.
If you’ve tried recovering your username and password a couple of times and are not receiving the email, have checked your junk and spam folders, or you no longer have access to the email address you registered with us, contact us.
If you continue to have a problem accessing your account, it may be related to your browser settings. Please check your browser settings as described below.

Enabling Cookies

Internet Explorer 8.x, 9.x	Tools menu > Internet Options > Privacy tab > move slider below Medium High > click OK.
Mozilla Firefox	Tools menu > Options > Privacy tab > select “Use custom settings for history” from the “Firefox will” drop down > check “Accept cookies from sites > click OK.
Safari	Safari menu > Preferences > Security > select Always or Only from sites you navigate to under Accept Cookies > click OK.
Google Chrome	“Wrench” menu > Options > Under the Hood tab > Privacy section > select Allow all cookies > click Close.

Enabling JavaScript

Internet Explorer 8.x, 9.x	Tools menu > Internet Options > Security tab > Custom Level button > Scripting section > select Enable under Active Scripting > select Enable under Scripting of Java Applets > click OK.
Mozilla Firefox	Tools menu > Options > Content > check Enable JavaScript > click Advanced > check appropriate items under Allow scripts to > click OK > click OK.
Safari	Safari menu > Preferences > Security > check Enable JavaScript > click OK.
Google Chrome	(JavaScript is enabled by default.)
