When do I withdraw my earnings?
If you are working an Hourly Contract, your earnings become available based on the oDesk Weekly Payment Schedule.
If you are working a Fixed-Price Contract, your earnings become available after the client's payment method has been processed and the six-day Security Period has expired. If there are no issues with your client's payment method, you can access your earnings in seven days.
Withdrawals are not automatic. You need to go to your Wallet tab and click on Withdraw to manually transfer your earnings to your Withdrawal Method on file.
To set up a Withdrawal Method, click on the Wallet tab and then select Add a withdrawal method. There will be a list tailored to the address/location entered on the User Settings page.
For example, U.S. residents will see ACH/Direct Deposit and a request to submit a W-9 form. Users from other countries will see a request to submit the W8BEN and other withdrawal options, such as Local Funds Transfer.
Your earnings will remain in your oDesk account until you make a withdrawal manually from the Withdrawal Earnings page. Funds can stay in your oDesk account indefinately until you are ready to withdraw them.

How do I withdraw earnings?
You need an active withdrawal method and an available balance on your oDesk account to make a withdrawal.Your earnings are not withdrawn automatically; you have complete control over when and how much to withdraw. Withdraw earnings the day they become available, or make larger withdrawals less frequently to reduce your fees.
You can even split your earnings between multiple withdrawal methods.
Use these steps to make a withdrawal:
- Go to the Wallet tab and click on Withdraw button. The finance system may ask you to answer your security question. This is an added security measure.
- Select a Withdrawal Method from the list.
- Choose to either Withdraw the Available balance, and proceed to the next step, or choose Other amount, and enter the amount of the withdrawal.
- The form calculates the Withdrawal Fee, if any. Fees vary by withdrawal method and amount.
- Confirm the withdrawal and adjust, if necessary.
- Press the Withdraw button.

How do I transfer my earnings?
oDesk does not automatically transfer your earnings to your PayPal, Skrill, or Payoneer account. You must make withdrawals manually by going to your Wallet tab and clicking on Withdraw. oDesk's withdrawal fees will be shown on the form. Additional transfer and currency conversion fees may be applied by the vendor.I cannot withdraw my earnings. What is wrong?
Here are the main reasons users find themselves unable to make a withdrawal:No available balance.
You cannot withdraw if you have a zero balance.
Pending credit.
Your client has initiated payment, but your funds are listed as "pending," under the first column (the Due On column) of the Transaction History page. The word, "pending," normally appears for up to 24 hours, or until the oDesk finance system has successfully processed your client's payment. Once the payment goes through, the word, "pending," is replaced with a Due On date. That is the date that you can access your earnings to withdraw them to your payment method on file.
No active withdrawal method.
For security reasons, you must wait four days to withdraw after you add a new withdrawal method.
No W-9 on file.
